Sierra Leone newly confident having made enormous strides since the end of the civil conflict, is ready to embark on a new and momentous chapter of development and growth. The imminent occasion of our Golden Jubilee affords a timely opportunity to pause, reflect, and learn lessons from the past 50 years. It is also a time to celebrate the unique attributes that set us apart as a nation, re-enforce our sense of pride, patriotism, and rediscover the things that make us one and united as Sierra Leoneans.
In the spirit of national unity, the 50th Independence Anniversary Celebrations will be devoid of regional, political, and ethnic prejudice and shall be inclusive of all Sierra Leoneans, across every province, irrespective of religion, tribe, age, and gender. Let us come together and rebuild the ‘Athens of Africa’, as we look towards the future of our nation, we welcome you to 50years Forward: Celebrating a new Sierra Leone.
